Colon hydrotherapy is a colon cleansing therapy using water; a method of removing waste from the large intestine, without the use of drugs. By introducing filtered, purified and pressurized water into the colon, the waste is softened and loosened, resulting in evacuation through natural peristalsis. There is minimal stress and effort on the part of the individual as the constant water flow assists the body function. This process is performed by an I-ACT Certified Colon Hydrotherapist and repeated multiple times during a session. Colonics are a restorative therapy that promotes colon renewal. A healthy digestive tract helps support a healthy immune system.

8 Habits Destroying Your Gut Health
Your gut health plays a vital role in your overall well-being, but modern lifestyles often work against it in more ways than we realize. Everyday habits can quietly wreak havoc on your digestive system. As a Certified Colon Hydrotherapist, I help clients identify these hidden disruptors and take meaningful steps toward restoring digestive harmony—because when your gut feels good, the rest of you does too.
By gently clearing out built-up waste, colon hydrotherapy can help reduce bloating, relieve constipation, and support smoother, more regular digestion.
Clients feel lighter, more energized, and mentally refreshed after a session. When your body isn’t weighed down by toxins, it can function more efficiently.
Colon hydrotherapy offers a natural way to support your body’s detox pathways—helping to flush out toxins and create a clean foundation for overall wellness.
To get the most out of your colon hydrotherapy session, we recommend staying well-hydrated in the days leading up to your appointment. Eat light, nourishing meals—focusing on fruits, vegetables, and whole foods—and try to avoid processed foods, caffeine, alcohol, and heavy meals at least 24 hours beforehand. Gentle movement, like walking or stretching, can also help your body feel more at ease. Arrive relaxed and comfortable—your hydrotherapist will walk you through everything and answer any questions before you begin.

Frequently Asked Questions
Your safety is of utmost importance. Colonics are very safe when performed by a trained Colon Hydrotherapist using FDA-registered Class II medical-grade equipment with built-in safety features, including backflow prevention. Your Hydrotherapist continuously monitors the equipment throughout the session. We use only purified water—no drugs or chemicals—that is temperature-controlled and pressurized, all within safe parameters.
No. Most people describe the experience as unusual but not painful. You may feel mild cramping or pressure as your body eliminates waste, but many clients report feeling lighter and refreshed afterward.
Allow an hour in total for each appointment, including changing time and bathroom time. The session itself takes 40 minutes. We ask you to arrive 15 minutes early for your first appointment, as you will be filling out the New Client paperwork.
For your comfort and to ensure the best results, we recommend avoiding heavy meals and drinking alcohol before your appointment. Ideally, please refrain from eating for two hours before your appointment, and limit fluid intake during the hour prior. This helps your body respond more effectively and ensures a more pleasant experience overall.
If you are particularly constipated, you should ask your Hydrotherapist for advice on what you can do beforehand to maximize the benefits of your session, such as taking probiotics and/or natural laxatives.
Most people find the procedure to be quite relaxing, with little to no discomfort. The colon fills and empties regularly as part of its normal function, so the treatment is nothing new. You may feel varying sensations of fullness and movement in your abdomen throughout the session.
Most of the important bowel bacteria are present on the bowel wall and are not removed during Colon Hydrotherapy. Any reduction in good bacteria is usually temporary. If you eat well afterward (fiber, fermented foods, probiotics), your microbiome rebounds quickly—often stronger, since the environment is cleaner. Think of a colonic like deep cleaning your house — yes, you might toss a few useful things in the process, but with the right follow-up, your space is fresher and better for what comes next.
Colon hydrotherapy is not recommended for individuals with certain health conditions, including: aneurysm, severe hemorrhoids, severe anemia, recent colon or abdominal surgery (within 6 weeks), fistulas or fissures, severe heart disease (such as uncontrolled hypertension or congestive heart failure), Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation, pregnancy, cirrhosis, and kidney (renal) insufficiency. Always consult your healthcare provider if you have any medical conditions or concerns. A prescription from your doctor is required to proceed with colon hydrotherapy if you have any of the above conditions.
Clients commonly report: Relief from constipation and bloating, improved energy and mental clarity, reduced gas, a sense of overall lightness and well-being, as well as better digestion and regularity. Other benefits include improved nutrient absorption, enhanced detoxification, support for weight management, and boosted energy levels.
Everyone is different, and colonics may help some more than others. We do not claim to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition. The best way to find out if they will benefit you is to book a session and see for yourself. It has been a game changer for many people.
While both enemas and colon hydrotherapy use water to remove waste from the colon, they differ significantly in reach and effectiveness. Enemas are self-administered at home and cleanse only the lower 8–12 inches of the colon. In contrast, colon hydrotherapy reaches the full 5–7 feet of the large intestine using low-pressure, temperature-controlled water, providing a deeper and more effective cleanse. Often used as part of a wellness regimen, colon hydrotherapy supports detoxification and digestive health, while enemas offer short-term relief from constipation. As noted by wellness pioneer Dr. Norman Walker, one colon irrigation may equal the effect of 30 enemas.
Most people feel great after a colonic, with renewed energy and vitality. However, occasionally, some clients may feel tired in the hours after. It’s important to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and recommended to add electrolytes. You may also experience increased bowel movements as your body adjusts. If you have any concerns or you feel unwell, speak to your Hydrotherapist, who will be able to explain your body’s reactions to you.
Your session will take place in a private room with only your Hydrotherapist who understands the sensitivity of the procedure. You are draped from the beginning and the whole process is very discreet. It is perfectly normal to feel a little embarrassed, but your Hydrotherapist will compassionately help put you at ease.
No. The equipment we use is a “closed system” where waste material is removed from the colon through a sealed, closed tube, so there is no odor or mess during the procedure. The closed system is often preferred for being more discreet, more hygienic, and more comfortable.
The number of sessions depends on your individual health, lifestyle, and wellness goals. Factors like diet, stress, medications, and digestive issues all play a role. A common starting point is two sessions per week for 2–3 weeks, with adjustments based on your body’s response. Your Hydrotherapist will help create a personalized plan.
Yes, it is considered safe and may even be beneficial, helping ease some menstrual symptoms. We use absorbent pads underneath you during the colon hydrotherapy session in case your period begins or flows beyond the tampon. Your flow will not interfere with the success of the session.
